Description
The Miami Canal (C-6, South Florida Water Management District) runs from Lake Okeechobee to the Miami River. This picture is taken looking west from the pedestrian bridge at Red Road between Hialeah and Miami Springs. The bridge in the distance is the Miami-Dade Metrorail. To the right is Okeechobee Road, also US-27, and to the left is the riverside park of native trees and a private stand of Australian Pines along with an old-style power pole string. I call this image "Then and Now" because it almost seems like the left is the past and the right is the current. This was taken on a perfectly clear sky and a windless morning, creating a clear reflection of the trees in the still water of the canal.
