About William Wetmore
My passion is making photographs on film, and in my pursuit of that I am constantly challenging myself to work with a variety of cameras, film types and formats, and processes in my photo lab/darkroom. I love everything about making photographs.
Here in these pages you can see my journey through the current world of photography in many forms, including digital HDR work I was doing over a decade ago, and the fascinating route I have taken to large format film and even glass plate photography.
I sincerely hope you find beauty and relevance in my images. For me, photography is a spiritual pursuit, almost a meditative practice, through which I appreciate the beauty of the world and share that appreciation with you. If you buy my artwork, please drop me an email to let me know what you liked about the image you purchased.
When I'm behind the camera, I seek out unusual subjects, new perspectives, and strive to capture the mood and totality of those subjects the way I see them. From minute details to wide vistas, each composition is considered and contemplated.
I'm always looking for new ideas, and would be thrilled if you suggest topics of interest for me to attempt to capture. And, if you see something in here that you like, but would be interested in a slightly different version- don't hesitate to ask... for every picture in here, I probably have at least one other that I didn't post.
My advice to anyone: "Stop, look around. You'll see something beautiful, wherever you are."
