Artist's Description

Upper Falls in Hocking Hills State Park, Appalachian Ohio, United States, enters a sandstone basin under a graceful stone arched bridge, creating a scenic location. This photograph was taken in the early Spring before most trees regained their leaves, allowing more sunlight into the basin than usual, making for a dramatic contrast between light and shadow.

Photographed in March 2016 on vintage Kodak PXP 120 roll film using a 1961 Graflex Century Graphic folding bellows camera with a Xenar 105mm f/3.5 lens. The negative is a 6x9 cm format. 120ASA, f/5.6, 1/30s. Digitized using 9 exposures on a Canon 5D MK II.
