Artist's Description

This is the Cape Florida lighthouse on the island of Key Biscayne. This historic light, built in 1855, still stands today after a complete renovation in the 1990's, and is operating as a marine navigational aid as well.

This picture was captured using a Canon 5D, and is processed from three exposures using Photomatix Pro and Aperture.

The light is within Bill Baggs State Park, and tours of the lighthouse are given daily.

There is a fascinating history behind this lighthouse. For details see "Wikipedia":http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cape_Florida_Light. This lighthouse is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.

If you buy my artwork, please drop me an email to let me know what you liked about the image you chose! When I'm behind the camera, I seek out unusual subjects, new perspectives, and strive to capture the mood and totality of those subjects the way I see them. From minute details to wide vistas, each composition is considered and contemplated. I'm always looking for new ideas, and would be thrilled if you suggest topics of interest for me to attempt to capture. And, if you see something in here that you like, but...
