Artist's Description
This is Triple Falls in Dupont Forest, North Carolina, USA. Within the Appalachian mountain range. The photograph is taken from the middle falls, which is accessed by a 110-step wooden staircase installed by the NC Forest Service. The trail leading to the falls is about a 3-5 mile trek depending on your point of origin, either by hiking, mountain bike, or on horseback. I accessed this by mountain bike. This was a movie location for The Hunger Games.
Image captured on Fuji Velvia 100 Slide Film using a Canon EOS 1V with a Canon 50mm f/1.4 prime lens. The image is a tone map of three exposures auto bracketed at +/-3, ISO100, bringing out the dynamic range of this film in a unique way.
